Arlon PCB Materials for Electronics (MED) is a division of Arlon LLC, a leading manufacturer of specialist high performance laminate and prepreg materials used in a wide range of PCB (printed circuit board) applications. These applications frequently necessitate laminates with unique electrical, thermal, mechanical, or other performance characteristics that outperform common FR-4 materials.

Arlon Electronic Substrates is a thermoset resin technology company that specializes in polyimide, high Tg multifunctional epoxy, and low loss thermoset laminate and prepreg systems. These resin systems are available on a number of different substrates, including woven glass and non-woven aramid. Glass transition temperature is high. All Arlon printed circuit board materials have a high glass transition temperature, whether Arlon laminate, Arlon fabric, or other integrated circuit materials. Remember that glass transition refers to the continuous and reversible change of an amorphous substance from its strong and brittle glassy state to a rubbery or viscous state when subjected to a temperature increase.

Dielectric thermoset with little loss. Because all Arlon PCB materials have a low loss thermoset, they cannot heat up quickly when operating in high RF environments. Polyimide, silicone, and PTFE, among other materials, are excellent examples.

Polyimide. In this example, it is an Arlon polymer composed of imide monomers from the high-performance plastics category. Because of its great heat resistance, the material can be used in a variety of applications that require tough organic ingredients. As a result, it is used in high-temperature displays, fuel cells, military applications, and so on.
